President's Greeting

Welcome to the Lewis University Web site. As you explore our website, you will see that Lewis is a dynamic, mid-sized University of more than 5,400 undergraduate and graduate students, offering small interactive classes, high quality academic programs, service opportunities and a wonderfully-diverse community. Our values-centered curriculum combines a liberal arts foundation blended with relevant professional education. For three consecutive years, Lewis has been named one of the "Best Colleges" by U.S. News and World Report and received recognition from The Princeton Review.

Sponsored by the De La Salle Christian Brothers, Lewis focuses on faculty/student interaction. Teaching is a top priority here. Small, personalized classes provide faculty with an opportunity to mentor their students and involve them in projects and research.

I invite you to learn more about our main campus which is exceptionally beautiful, safe, self-contained and located 30 minutes from Chicago. More than 1,000 resident students live in 11 residence halls within easy walking distance of the Student Union, the library, academic classrooms, the Bookstore, the Student Recreation and Fitness Center and Sancta Alberta Chapel. Classes also are offered at additional convenient sites in Tinley Park, Oak Brook, Hickory Hills, Shorewood, and at De La Salle Institute in Chicago.
